Never has an actor leaked their upcoming film online for all to watch. Gonna be honest though, when Ryan Reynolds does it, he certainly goes above and beyond in delivering Pokémon: Detective Pikachu for free (and on YouTube).
Give the fluffy, wise crack’n detective your attention for the next hour and 42 minutes and 53 seconds, and watch Tim and Detective Pikachu’s first case. You can’t wait a few more days to see it in theaters — trust me. Up you go, click the play button down below, and enjoy.
It seems the video is the equivalent of being Rick Rolled by Pokémon. Sure, we see a small portion of the movie in this upload, but then it quickly turns into a neon, jazzercise, home workout VHS tape. Why have an end credit gag when you can experience over an hour of a very happy dancing Pikachu?

— Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) May 7, 2019
Clearly, @InspectrPikachu is being operated by the Pokémon: Detective Pikachu social media team, playing on the movie’s name. In fact, the display name for the @DetPikachuMovie is currently “Detective Leakachu.” As for why “Inspector Pikachu” — this could be a reference to other detective movies featuring Inspector Gadget, Inspector Clouseau, and many others. After this series of moves, this Pikachu is certainly joining their comedic ranks, thanks to this wonderfully silly piece.
Pokémon: Detective Pikachu will be out in theaters on May 10th.
