Time to tip the scales for what’s now got to be one of Nintendo’s biggest series. It’s been announced by developer Intelligent Systems that this May, a Fire Emblem Expo will be held in Tokyo. While no further details of that event were provided, judging by the silhouetted artwork and when we’ll be getting more information, we can make a few assumptions.

First, many characters (specifically Lords) new and old appear to be in the key art released. This shouldn’t be limited to the 3DS titles and upcoming Switch release Fire Emblem: Three Houses, so it’s great to see a greater breadth of representation out of the gate. One of those outlines is another clue too, as messenger owl Feh is also invited to represent Fire Emblem Heroes.
Finally it’s been stated that further information will be provided during a livestream dedicated to the series’ collectible card game, Fire Emblem Cipher. This’ll take place on December 8th, with tickets to the Expo following shortly after on December 28th. That’s three pillars of Fire Emblem presumably represented and united under one event banner. It’ll be interesting to see just what this features and the kind of turnout it’ll receive, but as is it feels like it could be a signal of a new chapter in the series’ growth.
