Today Nintendo released its six-month financial report, ending September 30th, and as always the company’s president, now Shuntaro Furukawa, took part in a Shareholder Q&A session. We should see the full transcript sometime within the next week, but for now we have a report from Bloomberg tech reporter Yuji Nakamura covering the essentials.
Nintendo president Furukawa today in Osaka:
🤑Sees more DLCs for existing "big" games

If you’re curious about that DLC line, Nakamura has the full quote below:
Full DLC quote: "We need continuous growth. We must keep releasing new software. That includes DLCs and other contents for big titles that are already out. And more focus on online play. Lastly, more genres and diverse games to draw in people who don't currently play on Switch."

While we’re already seeing continuous DLC in some big titles, like Splatoon 2 and Mario Tennis Aces, it’d be interesting to see if Super Mario Odyssey will finally get DLC in the coming months. Likewise, the focus on online play does bring to mind Animal Crossing, which is a franchise that has always been at the forefront of Nintendo’s online endeavors.
We’ll be bringing more coverage from the recent financial reports throughout the day.
