The official Pokemon YouTube channel has declared 2018 to be the “Year of Legendary Pokémon,” celebrating the franchise’s most powerful creatures with yearlong distributions for Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
Legendaries from throughout the series will be given out each month in 2018, including a Shiny Zygarde in June.
The announcement came alongside the launch of a website dedicated to the event, which details the distributions, information about Legendary Pokémon and related activities.
The “Year of Legendary Pokémon” follows the same format as the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebration in 2016, during which special distributions for Mythical Pokémon were available in addition to limited edition plush toys.
The Legendary distributions kick off next month with Dialga and Palkia, which will be available in Gamestop stores in the U.S. and GAME in the UK.
