It has now been five years since the RPG Bravely Default first launched for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. Bringing back Final Fantasy’s classic job system with a brand new setting and a gorgeous art style, the game has been well-regarded ever since, albeit with some misgivings when it comes to pacing.
To mark the occasion, the game’s official Japanese Twitter account has released a new image and it features some guest characters we’ve yet to properly meet…

That’s right, it’s a mash-up of Bravely Default and the upcoming Switch exclusive Project Octopath Traveler. The combo makes sense given how the latter is essentially the next game from the “Bravely” team, and the similarities between the two properties are undeniable.
It’s also hard not to speculate that Octopath might have some easter eggs in store, given the appropriate sprites now exist for various Bravely Default characters. We’ll just have to wait and see!
