If you needed any extra incentive to pick up the special edition of Metroid: Samus Returns, this might entice you — the game’s cover is reversible, and the flip side bears the cover and blurbs of the original Metroid II: Return of Samus for the Game Boy.
The Metroid: Samus Returns cover is reversible to make it look like the original Game Boy game. Neat! pic.twitter.com/Gtemuh78xw

This little feature appears to be for the special edition only, though no official word from Nintendo has come in on the matter. This isn’t the first time a special edition of a Nintendo remake has come with a retro throwback cover — Fire Emblem Echoes had a similar one in its limited edition earlier this year.
Metroid: Samus Returns is due out September 15th.
