The latest main entry in the puzzle-busting Layton franchise has been out on smart devices for a few weeks now, but no doubt many of you are waiting to play the game on a Nintendo handheld like its predecessors. While we knew Layton’s Mystery Journey would be launching this October for the 3DS, Nintendo UK has given us a more precise date for the region – October 6th.
In the accompanying news post we also learn that the game will see a new puzzle available to download every day for a year after launch.
Layton’s Mystery Journey follows the prof’s daughter, Katrielle, as she uncovers some mysteries. Unlike past Layton games which were a main story divided into chapters, Mystery Journey has 12 self-contained cases, with a narrative through-line tying them together.
