Earlier today, Niantic rolled out the new Gym system in Pokémon GO. As excited as fans were over Gyms, the tab about Raid Battles kept them wondering when that feature would go live. Well, it’s available now, but with a twist: Pokémon GO players who are level 35 or higher are the only ones who can proudly take down eggs that appear. Unfortunately, we don’t know if this will be the norm, or if Niantic is rolling out the Raid Battle system slowly by allowing higher level players have at the new feature first.

We’ll keep tabs on how Raid Battles will evolve this summer — we’re hoping that we won’t have to cash in on lucky eggs and Pidgey candies to make the grind easier to level 35!
