Who needs 200cc when you can have a blue hedgehog commandeering a P-Wing? Thanks to enterprising modder CorBond57, Sonic has been brought into Mario Kart 8, but it’s still a work in progress.
Despite almost perfectly importing the Blue Blur’s model, if you listen closely enough you can hear him spouting Metal Mario’s dialogue from the game (the race rankings even show him as Metal Mario, too.) This makes it all the more funny when you realize that Sonic is collecting coins instead of rings during these laps.
The mod works only with the Wii U version as of now, so if you’re hoping that you can race around as Sonic in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe you might be better served waiting for some Sega-approved DLC.
