If you haven’t heard yet, there’s a new Bayonetta teaser page up on Sega’s website.
Just a few hours ago, Sega released a small Bayonetta flash game on Steam. As most games on the platform do, the retro-themed title came complete with achievements. However, these achievements were more than they seemed, leading players to a URL that displayed a 10-day countdown.
What’s noteworthy about this page is the background image – while it may be hard to spot on certain displays, it definitely hides a fraction of some Bayonetta character art, highlighting her signature handgun-heels and red ribbon.
Now, it’s worth mentioning that it IS April Fools’ Day, and while a 10-day countdown may seem excessive for a prank, we can’t necessarily rule out the possibility that this might be nothing.
If it is leading to something, many are speculating that, thanks of the linkage to the flash game on Steam, this countdown could result in a PC release of Bayonetta, which is currently exclusive to consoles. However, nothing is confirmed yet, so all we really know is that this is a Bayonetta-related announcement of some kind (hopefully).
Stay tuned for more info about the countdown clock!
