The latest look at Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia has made its way online and it stands out among the rest. Voiced over all the way through, it goes over the game’s back story, the main characters, Alm and Celica, and details their places between the warring kingdoms central to its plot.
Other details gleaned are in line with recent reports – archers can counter at close range and mages must use health to cast spells. Terrain effects are also emphasized, as are the systems of class changing and the series’ trademark permadeath. If that’s a bit intimidating, Casual mode is back, though Awakening and Fates’ Pair Up mechanic has been fittingly removed for this remake.
Fire Emblem Echoes will be out May 19th alongside the Alm and Celica amiibo, as well as a recently announced Limited Edition. Let us know what you think of the trailer below, and look forward to more on this anticipated title.
