It’s rare I get to write about so many of my favorite things at a given time, but here we are! The Good Smile Company has pulled back the curtain on some of its upcoming collectibles, and they’re definitely tempting to say the least. Coming from Kirby, Fire Emblem, Metroid, and Pokémon, there’s a lot to be excited about here. Let’s check ‘em out!
It looks like a new version of their Kirby Nendoroid will be released, this time in blue rather than the Dream Land denizen’s trademark pink. That makes it perfect for representing Ice Kirby, which the included accessories look to be aware of. Whether it’ll come with any others remains to be seen, though the last version of Kirby could be either Sword or Fire, and featured the Star Rod as another pack in.
We also saw an unpainted prototype of the Robobot Armor from the latest game in the series, Kirby Planet Robobot. This was one of my most played games of last year, so I’m excited to see it get some notable representation so soon. The image includes a Kirby pilot already inside, though if it’s removable or just meant to represent one of the existing Kirby figures with a new helmet accessory isn’t known just yet.
Next we jump away from Pop Star and land in Hoshido for a brand new Fire Emblem Nendoroid. Joining the existing Elise figure will be Sakura, the youngest princess from the Birthright route of Fire Emblem Fates. There’s no picture of the figure or prototype, but the concept art implies she’ll come with a Bloom Festal accessory and be in her default class design.
While she may have gotten the Figma treatment before, Samus Aran is up for another version. This time it’s coming from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The small details make it stand out from the Other M version previously released, and this raises my hopes of more version of the Power Suit down the line. Fingers crossed for Super Metroid.
Pokémon’s got the most focus of the upcoming goods, with not only Nendoroid designs but some Nendoroid Plus extras and a Figma on the way as well. None of these have images of the actual products, but the concept art for most gives a pretty good idea of what to expect.
For standard Nendos it looks like Ash is finally getting his own figure in the line in his original outfit. The pose he’s striking is one fans will be familiar with, complete with Poké Ball in hand. He’ll come with a to scale Pikachu as well, keeping these long time partners together forever.
Speaking of partners, Lillie and Nebby are also coming soon! Lillie was one of my favorite parts of Pokémon Sun & Moon, and just like the Robobot Armor, knowing that she was loved enough to get a Nendoroid this quickly is great to see. Alongside Cosmog she’ll have her hat and bag, though no word if Nebby can fit inside the latter.
The final bits are just non-stylized concept art. First is a Nendoroid More set for Pikachu. This will feature new accessories, such as different styled faces, to enhance existing figures. Whether it’s meant for the Pikachu included with Ash’s figure remains to be seen. Last is an announcement of a new Figma styled after Red. The art used is from Fire Red & Leaf Green, implying that’ll be the look they go for over his original design or the aged up look he got in Sun & Moon.
That’s it for the brand new merch, but remember that there are a few upcoming Nintendo figures releasing soon, like the Breath of the Wild Link Nendoroid. Which of these are you most excited for? Let us know below and look forward to more from Good Smile’s cute collectibles as they’re revealed.
