Well this is a sudden surprise: Nintendo has announced it will be localizing and releasing Yo-Kai Watch 2 in North America this September 30th.
Taking a leaf out of Pokemon’s book, Yo-Kai Watch 2 will be available as two different versions; the rather morbidly named Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls, each with its own exclusive yo-kai. In this sequel players will be able to explore more areas outside of Springdale and befriend over 100 new Yo-Kai.
Even more Yo-Kai Watch will be happening outside of the games too, with a second season of the show airing, even more of the manga being translated by VIZ Media, and Hasbro releasing a massive range of new toys and medals.
Time will tell if we’ll also see Yo-Kai Watch 3 in the future, which is releasing in Japan soon, but Nintendo of America really seems to be picking up the pace to catch up. There are several spin-off games for the Nintendo 3DS we have yet to see localized, too. We’ll be sure to let you know if and when more Yo-Kai Watch news breaks!
