Pokémon month just keeps getting better! Nintendo of America has announced three all new Super Mario Maker costumes featuring everyone’s favorite Kanto starters: Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. The three costumes are unlocked by completing a Pokémon themed course titled “I Choose You!”.
One of the most surprising aspects of these costumes is the inclusion of Pokémon themed sound effects when acquiring the Mystery Mushroom. Super Mario Maker fans know that Pikachu, Charizard, Jigglypuff, Greninja and Lucario all have a defaulted sound effect when being played, so the new sounds are, no doubt, pleasant additions to the game.
Just a heads up: You’ll need to clear the event course three times to unlock all three costumes! The Pokémon themed event course is available now in Super Mario Maker. Get playing!
