The list of rumors regarding Nintendo’s enigmatic NX system just keeps on growing; this time we have speculation that the popular cross-over Super Smash Bros. will be making its way to the system as a launch game.
The rumor comes courtesy of Serkan Toto, CEO of Japanese game consultant agency Kantan Games Ltd. Check out his tweets:
Bandai Namco is currently developing several NX titles. Smash Bros is planned to be a launch title. I am not sure about the date – yet ;).

To follow up on my last tweet: I haven’t heard if it’s a completely new (numbered) Smash Bros or not. Otherwise, source situation is solid.

While this might seem baseless at first glance, he has had some success predicting rumors in the past. For example, just a few months ago he accurately described much of what was announced in Nintendo’s October 28th mobile-focused business meeting a day in advance.
So what could this Super Smash Bros. game be? Given development essentially only just wrapped up on the Wii U and 3DS titles, and DLC is still in the works, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine a port of the Wii U version bundled with all of the add-on content.
We will just have to wait and see what shape this rumored new Super Smash Bros. takes, and what other games Namco Bandai may be cooking up for the system.
