According to a couple of rumors surrounding the NX that have surfaced online recently, some new details are being speculated regarding some of the console’s technology.
Takashi Mochizuki, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, tweeted earlier this morning about the NX’s compatibility with other technology and devices. Specifically, he states that the next console may work in tandem with smartphones, PCs, and possibly even other consoles of Nintendo’s rivals, such as the PlayStation 4.
However, Mochizuki’s tweet has no real source, with the only David Gibson, the head of research at Macquarie Capital Securities in Japan, being mentioned as reporting it.
The second rumor regarding the console comes in the form of a supposed leaked survey from GFK, a client of Nintendo. The survey was tweeted out by Twitter user Liam Robertson, which provided new information and details about the console, including packaging. This survey further confirms the apparent connectivity between a handheld and a console and discusses the Nintendo Network. Interestingly, though, it also states that video calls will be capable on your TV through the NX, and will support 4k/60fps video streaming and feature gameplay graphics at 900p/60fps. According to the survey as well, the NX comes included with a sensor bar in the box, which is peculiar considering Nintendo’s claim to move away from the Wii brand with NX.
Keep in mind that these are all rumors and should be regarded as such. None of the information we’re posting here is claiming to be true or fact by any means, so believe these with caution. In fact, just a week ago, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima talked about the plans for the company for the next year, and made sure to mention that we’ll be hearing more about the console later this year.
