Today’s Nintendo Direct was filled with good news for 3DS owners that are JRPG fans. Here’s a recap:
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Dragon quest fans have been patiently waiting for these 3DS ports to make their way to the West. Not one, but two beloved entries in the series will be released in the U.S. sometime in 2016.
Bravely Second: End Layer
The sequel to Bravely Default will hit North America in Spring 2016. Europe may be getting it a little earlier, with a Q1 release, and will also be receiving a special edition of the game, complete with a tiny figure of Agnes.
Final Fantasy Explorers
This four player cooperative take on Square Enix’s esteemed franchise launches on January 26, 2016. A newly unveiled collector’s edition includes a CD with soundtrack highlights, an art book, a 3DS hard case, and codes for legendary weapon unlocks.
Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow
Fully preserved reissues of these Pokemon JRPG classics will be hitting the 3DS eShop on February 27th. Ditching the Game Boy link cables, they will allow for local wireless battles and trades.
