Would you call yourself an ex-Resident Evil fan? Did the not-so-subtle transition from tense, survival horror to full on action kill your interest in the franchise? Do you own a 3DS? Then this Cheap Nintendo Gem is for you!
Resident Evil: Revelations (3DS) $4.99 in 3DS eShop
Set on a mysterious, derelict cruise ship drifting aimlessly through the ocean, Revelations, in many ways, recaptures what used to be great about Resident Evil. Between the sparse resources, that hopeless sense of isolation, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, this feels more like a lost title from the zombie golden age than a modern entry in a stagnant franchise.
Revelations also really lets the 3DS flex its muscles. Even in 3D, the ship’s rainy upper decks and misty storerooms run smoothly and look fantastic. And since it originally supported the 3DS’ Circle Pad Pro peripheral, the New 3DS’ C-Stick offers another, more traditional control scheme for the game. Pair that with Super Stable 3D and this creepy adventure looks and feels better than ever.
Yes, Halloween is over, but anytime is a good time to battle the undead.
Note: Resident Evil: Revelations HD for Wii U is also on sale for $9.99 in Wii U eShop.
