During a discussion with Nintendo developers about the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, Famitsu took the opportunity to touch base with Eiji Aonuma about Zelda U. The media outlet mentioned that next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Zelda franchise, and Aonuma responded with the following:

“This year we wanted a Majora’s Mask concert, so it is not impossible that there may be a 30th anniversary concert next year. However, as we are trying to complete the new Zelda as fast as possible, that is all that is on our minds. That being said, we hope something will take form for the 30th anniversary. It is especially important to a producer of the series, so I hope to give something everyone can look forward to next year.”

Anouma remain reserved on the status of Zelda U and only offered the following statement regarding its development.

“We’re doing our best. Everyday we improve it bit by bit. It is something that requires plenty of time, however, so please believe in us and wait.”

Zelda fans continue to wait on the edge of their seats for any and all news regarding the upcoming Zelda game. Speculations continue to circulate about its possible release on Nintendo’s next gen console, codenamed NX. For now, it’s simply reassuring to hear that development continues. We hope to get more news soon, so stay tuned for updates!
