Ever since its announcement at E3 back in June, Nintendo has been quiet about the upcoming Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. Luckily we finally have some more information to share; fans of amiibo will be happy to know a select few of their figures will be compatible with the crossover RPG.

Unfortunately it isn’t clear how they will work in-game just yet, we just know that they’ll unlock special cards that will be advantageous to use in battle.

The list of compatible amiibo is as follows:

Super Smash Bros. Series

  • Mario
  • Luigi
  • Peach
  • Yoshi
  • Bowser
  • Dr. Mario

Super Mario Series

  • Mario
  • Luigi
  • Peach
  • Toad
  • Yoshi
  • Bowser

Super Mario Bros. 30th Anniversary Series

  • Classic Color Mario
  • Modern Color Mario

Yoshi’s Woolly World Series

  • Green Yarn Yoshi
  • Pink Yarn Yoshi
  • Blue Yarn Yoshi
  • Mega Yarn Yoshi

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam is pencilled in for a Spring 2016 release in the West.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
