Super Mario Maker looks like it’s had a very powerful start in Japan, selling more than 138,000 units in its opening week. The Japanese analytics company Media Create’s report shows that it’s the top selling game, beating out Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village DX, which sold 59,000 units.

Yo-Kai Watch Busters and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer continue to sell well. With Yo-Kai Watch about to eclipse the 1.5 million units sold mark, and Animal Crossing is just passing 1 million.

The release of Super Mario Maker also helped Nintendo push over 20,000 Wii U systems, topping the PlayStation 4, while trailing behind the New 3DS LL.
