With Pokémon Legends: Z-A having been out for three weeks now, it’s safe to say that many players have wrapped up the main story and are now working on the post-game. When it comes to Pokémon post-games, often the most exciting prospect is Shiny hunting, which naturally means that getting the Shiny Charm is a must. Unfortunately, getting the Shiny Charm in Legends: Z-A requires a lot more work than just finishing the Pokédex. Thankfully, there is a way to make it less tedious to obtain than it may seem at first.
The Shiny Charm is obtained as a reward for reaching level 50 in Mable’s research. This doesn’t actually require finishing all of her requests, but due to the high point total offered it does mean that all 15 Pokémon battling requests are mandatory. This totals to 1,000 Trainer battles for the final one, which seems very intimidating considering that finishing the game takes most people somewhere between 300-500 battles. While it is very possible to just grind out all 1,000 by participating in the Infinite Z-A Royale, there’s a much quicker method for those who don’t want to do that.
Step 1
First things first, go ahead and catch a strong Pokémon with access to a priority move. The best options for this are Lucario, Dragonite, or Zygarde with access to Extremespeed.
Step 2
Get them trained up and at a decently high level and then head to Restaurant Le Nah over on the eastern edge of Lumiose. This is one of a handful of restaurants that feature a battling challenge, and this is the quickest one for this purpose. Go ahead and talk to the waiter inside to begin, and from that point just KO every Pokémon with strong priority attacks.

Repeat
Once all three Trainers are defeated, go right back in and do it again to reach that 1,000 total as quickly as possible!

While it isn’t exactly a fast method, this is the most efficient way to get to the total amount of battles needed for the Shiny Charm. Be sure to get through all of the post-game story before resorting to this, as it requires a lot of battling in the Infinite Z-A Royale anyway. Once that’s done, then it’s just a matter of taking the time to grind out these battles and get to Shiny hunting once the Shiny Charm has been acquired!
