You might still be dusting off your shoes after getting out and about to catch all those Eevees last weekend, but it’s important to remember there’s no rest for the wicked when it comes to Pokémon. That’s right, Trainers: it’s time to start gearing up for next month’s Pokémon GO Community Day already! The PGO Twitter account has just announced that September’s featured ‘mon is none other than Chikorita.
Get excited, Trainers! September’s #PokemonGOCommunityDay will feature the Grass-type Pokémon Chikorita, on Saturday, September 22! https://t.co/d9NW6x5gaF pic.twitter.com/CKnVKpKPy8

You can expect there to be a 3x catch XP bonus, along with 3-hour Lures. Chikorita will also be offering an exclusive move — we’ll know more details about that at a later time.
Mark the weekend of September 22nd on your calendars now because you’ll want to make sure you have enough time during the catching period to nab those Grass-type Pokémon scattered all over the place.
We’ll make sure to report back with more news about the event once it becomes available, so stay tuned!
