I always seem to miss out on Kirby convention events and yet these seem to be the ones Nintendo gets experimental with. For his 20th anniversary, PAX attendees clinched a bubblegum World Record, and now during the celebration of his 25th and the upcoming release of Star Allies it’s all about opening your heart and sharing a little kindness.

During Emerald City Comic-Con in Seattle, Nintendo team members will be wandering around keeping an eye out for acts of kindness towards others. Holding doors open, picking up trash, and just being an all around decent person for the sake of it are what they’re after, and they’ve got Kirby prizes to reward you with.

It ties into Star Allies’ Helper gathering gameplay and exemplifies Kirby’s own kind nature. Even if he’ll eat up everything in sight and fight off anyone who disturbs the Pop Star peace, we’ve seen time and time again that he’s all about helping those in need just because he can.

If you’re attending the event, be on your best behavior and pay it forward a little bit. Not that you need a reason, but you might just get to play Star Allies early and earn a little something for your efforts from March 1st ’til the 4th.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
