It’s undeniable that amiibo have been a success story for Nintendo, with the collectible figures setting the internet abuzz every time a new wave is announced. As a result it’s only natural to see other companies tackle the same form factor even if they lack NFC capabilities, like Ubisoft with its wave of Kingdom Battle Rabbids.

Now one of Nintendo’s main competitors has gotten in on the game – Sony. The studio has announced the “Totaku Collection”, a series of interlocking figures that will pull first party characters like Sackboy and Kratos plus third party icons who are heavily associated with PlayStation, such as Crash Bandicoot. (UPDATE: It appears that Sony has licensed its characters out for this line and is not distributing them.)

GameSoul.it has several images, but you only need check out the box-art below to see just how amiibo-inspired they seem to be:

They definitely look like they’d be right at home alongside amiibo collections! The figures can be pre-ordered via GameStop in the US now ahead of their March release.
