UPDATE: Here are the first images of the Mario Sports Superstars amiibo cards, provided by Nintendo on the official site. It is also confirmed that using an amiibo card will unlock a “Superstar version” of that character.

Nintendo of America has released the box art for the upcoming Mario Sports Superstars which features a new line of amiibo cards.
The cards will come in packs of five and will retail for $4.99 starting on March 24th. According to Nintendo PR, tapping an amiibo card in the game will unlock “fun bonuses.”
New Mario Sports Superstars amiibo cards: By tapping one of these new amiibo character cards while playing Mario Sports Superstars, players will get a variety of fun bonuses. The Mario Sports Superstars amiibo cards can be purchased in blind packs of five at a suggested retail price of $4.99 each, starting on March 24. For a limited time, the Mario Sports Superstars game will include one amiibo card packed in.
No word yet on what these cards will look like, but we do get our first glimpse at the back of the card on the box.
Mario Sports Superstars launches on the 3DS on March 24th and one amiibo card will come with it. You can pre-order it now on Amazon.
