As a thank you to fans for their avid support over the past few months, the Pokémon GO team shared some exciting community stats this morning via its YouTube channel. As of December 7th, Poké trainers around the globe have collectively walked more than 8.7 billion kilometers – the equivalent of more than 200,000 trips around the Earth!
Perhaps even more astonishing, trainers caught over 88 billion Pokémon along their journeys to becoming the very best, which roughly amounts to 533 million a day! Unfortunately, the numbers on confectionary casualties and dumpster hatchlings have yet to be tallied, but perhaps that’s for the best…
