What’s worse than sideswiping a police car? Sideswiping a police car while playing Pokémon GO. That’s right; where there’s good news there’s bad news, and Pokémon GO has been no exception. We’ve seen the game gain more daily active users than Twitter, we’ve seen Nintendo become more valuable than Sony, but we’ve also seen armed robbers lure players to dark alleys – and now we’re seeing irresponsible players getting behind the wheel.
The Baltimore police department reported that the driver in this recent incident instantly admitted he had been playing the game – he even stepped out of his car with the game still running on his phone. The BPD Twitter account reminded all users that “Pokémon GO is not all fun and games. Here is a video of a distracted driver who struck one of our cars.”

Seriously, people. Don’t drive and play the game. Ash Ketchum never drove while trying to catch a Pokémon, and he turned out just fine.
