A(nother) wild Pokémon collaboration appeared! As the celebration of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary rolls on, we continue to see more and more merchandise celebrating this beloved franchise. The latest addition to the line up is a collaboration with Fender, who have whipped up two guitars that are inspired by Pokémon Red and Green.

The guitars are, quite frankly, stunning. Two guitars styles make up this collaboration, the classic Fender Stratocaster and the timeless Fender Telecaster have been decked out in references to Pokémon Red and Green. Pixel art from the games adorns the guitar bodies, with transparent pickguards (with pixelated edges!) to make sure you can see as much of that art as possible. Also featured are Poké Ball inlays on the fretboards, making me wish that every guitar I own had Poké Ball inlays. Completing the retro-themed package, there’s also a toggle present on the guitars to modulate the sound with an 8-bit tone.

These guitars won’t be released until sometime next year, but pre-orders are “coming soon” to the Pokémon Center.
