Nintendo has updated the physical rewards section of its My Nintendo Rewards website with two new goodies you can grab. Available since yesterday, September 16th, 2026, you can trade some platinum coins to nab either a Virtual Boy glasses case or a metal desktop display of the original Legend of Zelda NES box. They go for 800 and 1,000 Platinum Points respectively.
A description for the Virtual Boy glasses case notes that it is 6.68″”W x 3.04″”H x 2.52″”D, which is a fairly common size for glasses cases. It’s an all black case with striking red letters that reads “Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics.” The back has the Switch Online and Nintendo logos on it, just in case you forgot where you got it. I’m tempted to get one since I do wear glasses, though I think it would have been neat to make this a carrying case for the add-on accessory for the Nintendo Switch.
The metal Zelda desktop display is pretty much what it sounds like: a small metal recreation of the NES box art to put on your desk. Nintendo has done these before for older Mario games and has, essentially, made this a whole series. There’s a black acrylic stand with My Nintendo written on it, while the display itself is about seven inches tall by five inches wide. It has a protective film on both sides to shield it from dirt. I like little trinkets like this, especially since I’m too poor to get a complete-in-box NES cartridge nowadays.
Both rewards will be available while supplies last. The only fee you’ll need to pay is for shipping, which typically runs $6-7.
