Surprising pretty much everyone, Atari unleashed RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on the eShop yesterday. Available for either $29.99 as a full purchase or $5 for owners of the Switch 1 version, this new port brings higher resolution output and Joy-Con 2 mouse controls into the mix. In all honesty, that’s outstanding and would make this the definitive console version, in my opinion.

For those unaware, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is something of a remaster of the first two RollerCoaster Tycoon games. Developed in conjunction with series creator Chris Sawyer, it combines all the best aspects of both games into an HD whole that allows for even larger parks than was possible back in the ’90s. It’s a fantastic way to relive the series’ past while pushing things up to your demented adult mind’s limits.

The Switch 1 version is currently available for $24.99 on the eShop, so there’s no discount or anything going on for the launch of the Switch 2 version. Atari’s website does have the physical version of the original for $19.99, however, so you could buy that and get the $5 upgrade to save a little money.
