In a not so surprising announcement, Nintendo and Ikea have revealed that a special collaboration island between the two will be hitting Pokémon Pokopia very soon. Set to kick off on April 1st, 2026, and run until June 30, 2026, players will be able to visit a new Dream Island based on the famous Swedish furniture chain to check out rooms configured around Pikachu and Snorlax, among others.

On the company’s Japanese website, Ikea writes, “Over its 20 years in Japan, Ikea has believed that a home you truly love grows with you. This belief led to a special collaboration between Ikea Japan and Pokémon’s new game, Pokémon Pokopia.” As you can see from some of the promotional images, new items based on specific Pokémon will be available, allowing you to finally tell Pikachu that he needs to go sit in the Pikachu.

If you happen to live in Japan, you can also visit a local Ikea and take part in a stamp rally. Running from April 1st until May 10th, 2026, you’ll be able to collect special stickers and learn some history about the Ikea brand. As you peruse the store, you can partake of special themed food items and enter a raffle to win ¥100,000. More informational is available on the Ikea Japan website.

This is certainly a fun idea that naturally fits with what Pokémon Pokopia offers. Considering people have recreated things like an Olive Garden and underground subway in their games, I’m not surprised a functional Ikea would be next.
