Nintendo has confirmed that Star Fox protagonist and Super Smash Bros. fan favorite, Fox McCloud, will make an official appearance in the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

A new poster was shared by the film’s official social media channels, depicting the fuzzy fighter pilot standing triumphantly beside an Ukiki.

There is not yet any information on who will be voicing Fox or how his role will play into the story, but given the movie’s space setting, the Arwing aviator should be a natural fit.

Given that the Star Fox crew isn’t usually featured within the Mario series, there is already speculation across the NIntendo fanbase that this could indicate that a Super Smash Bros. film is in the works.

Star Fox isn’t the only other Nintendo franchise to appear in the Galaxy Movie, as a promotional video from last week confirmed that Pikmin will also be featured.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be released in theaters on April 3rd, 2026 in the United States, and on April 24th in Japan.
