Nintendo and Illumination have partnered with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in Japan, celebrating the upcoming theatrical release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie with some new sweet treats.

The promotional campaign introduces three specially decorated donuts themed around the movie’s characters, including Mario, Yoshi, and the Lumas.

The “Mario Strawberry” (¥388 takeout, ¥396 eat-in) is a ring donut coated in strawberry icing and topped with crunchy red and blue sprinkles, as well as yellow star-shaped toppings. It is decorated with a Mario hat pick.

The “Yoshi Custard Egg” (410 yen takeout, 418 yen eat-in) is filled with Hokkaido milk custard, covered in white chocolate, and decorated with green chocolate pieces.

The “Luma & Blueberry Galaxy” (¥410 takeout, ¥418 eat-in) has a white chocolate coating topped with a blueberry glaze. It is  decorated with silver sprinkles and lashes of pink strawberry- and yellow pudding-flavoured icing to create its galaxy theme.

A “Galaxy Box” (¥1,177 takeout, ¥1,199 eat-in) packages all three themed donuts together, while a “Galaxy Half Dozen” (¥1,825 takeout, ¥1,859 eat-in) includes the trio along with two original glazed donuts and a Double Chocolate Crunch.

Those who purchase a Galaxy Half Dozen box in-store at a Krispy Kreme will receive a special sticker. There are three to collect, featuring Mario, Yoshi, and Rosalina.

There’s also a Question Block Doughnut Box (¥540 takeout, ¥550 eat-in), which packages a custard-flavored ring donut inside a special square box based on the iconic yellow block from the Mario universe. Each will include a randomly selected pick – there are five to collect and include decorations of a Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, Ice Flower, Red Shell, and Yoshi Egg.

Finally, Krispy Kreme will offer an exclusive eco bag with a Super Mario Galaxy Movie design at ¥1,980. There are only 4,000 available.

The Krispy Kreme branch at the Shibuya Cinema Tower in Tokyo will be decorated with characters from the movie, including Mario, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Toad, Bowser Jr., and more. It will also feature a special photo spot with a large, Mario-decorated donut statue.

All products will be available from April 8th until May 26th, or until the supplies sell out.
