Capcom has revealed another bizarre marketing campaign for Resident Evil Requiem, this time having the fictional Umbrella Corporation file a faux lawsuit against Nissin Foods.
The developer kicked off the publicity push by sharing a post on X, stating that Umbrella has filed a case against Nissin due to the likeness between the made-up Umbrella Noodles and the real-life Cup Noodles. The reality, of course, is that the former is a parody of the latter.

Umbrella Noodles first appeared as an item in 2003’s Resident Evil Outbreak, but the logo likeness appeared in 2020’s Resident Evil 3 remake.

A promotional video was then released with an Umbrella spokesperson breaking down the whole affair. It’s in Japanese, but you can still get the gist.

Cup Noodle responded in jest, accusing Umbrella of being the one to copy its product.
Last week saw another comical campaign for Requiem, with Capcom collaborating with Yume Group to produce a fitness bundle. This included the game along with hanging exercise equipment – a nod to a scene within the game where protagonist Grace is hanging upside-down while strapped to a gurney.
50 units were offered and priced at ¥19,800 (approximately $127.50), selling out completely within the same day.
Resident Evil Requiem release date
Resident Evil Requiem will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam on February 27th, 2026.
