Yoshi was revealed as a major character in last month’s Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer, so it’s no wonder Mario’s dino pal has new merchandise. What may surprise you, however, is the quality of this particular toy.

Nerdist revealed an exclusive look at Spin Master’s Hatchin’ Yoshi, the latest in its egg-bursting Primal Hatch line. It retails at $59.99.

The official description reads:

Hatch, play and display your very own interactive Yoshi, inspired by Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie! Start the hatch by tapping the egg, knocking on it and rocking it back and forth. Once Yoshi is ready, you’ll start to see the egg rock side to side on its own. Listen closely for any noises and watch as the egg cracks and Yoshi pops out, greeting you with a “Yoshi!”

Once Yoshi has hatched, you can “gently pat his head or touch his nose to play with him,” and if you talk to him by pushing down on his shell, he’ll respond with adorable sounds.

Hatchin’ Yoshi is available to pre-order now for $49.88 from Walmart’s website in the US, and it will arrive in Walmart and other major retailers’ stores on March 21st. UK fans can pre-order at Smyths for £59.99.

Super Mario Galaxy Movie release date

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will release in theaters on April 3rd, 2026 in the United States, and on April 24th in Japan.
