Illumination and Universal Pictures debuted a new teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie during the weekend’s Super Bowl LX.

The short commercial shows new footage of Baby Mario and Baby Luigi happily playing on a sleeping Tyrannosaurus rex, with appearances from Yoshi and Toad.

Baby Mario, blissfully unaware of the danger he is in, uses the dinosaur’s teeth as a xylophone to play the Super Mario Bros. theme. Toad scrambles to pull the troublesome toddlers away, and when the beast wakes up, Yoshi’s attempt to scare it off doesn’t go as planned.

The T-rex is a nod to the one seen in Super Mario Odyssey’s Cascade Kingdom, which players can take control of and go on a rampage after throwing Cappy at her.

Super Mario Galaxy Movie release date

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will premiere in theaters on April 3rd, 2026 in the United States, and on April 24th in Japan.
