Taking place shortly after the Tomb Raider reveal, Geoff Keighley announced a brand-new exclusive Switch 2 co-op game at The Game Awards. Titled Orbitals, it’s essentially an homage to “It Takes Two,” just with a retro anime style straight out of the ’70s. The impression I got was Astro Boy, though obviously with a little more 3D depth.

For its official reveal trailer, the YouTube description reads, “Launch into Orbitals, an intergalactic 2-player co-op adventure set in a classic retro anime universe! Team up as explorers Maki and Omura to brave the perils of space and save their home from the dangers of a supernatural cosmic storm.” It seems the game will be exclusively co-op and constantly splitscreen, which has worked for Hazelight thus far.

When will Orbitals release?

Orbitals is scheduled for release sometime in 2026 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.
