Nintendo has uploaded a brand-new concept trailer for the upcoming PokéPark Kanto, a real-life theme park set to open in Japan on February 5, 2026. The first permanent outdoor Pokémon facility, the park will include hundreds of different critters, an entire forest to explore, an exclusive merch shop, a stadium-like gym, and something called the “Battle Court.” The video gives you a rough idea of how it will look like, though obviously Pokémon won’t be roaming around as if they were real.
Announced all the way back in December of 2023, the park has been a long time coming for The Pokémon Company. While a delay saw its opening pushed back a few years, it seems that extra time has greatly expanded the scope of this park. As per the park’s official website, PokéPark Kanto will be split between two different areas: Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town. The forest is a traditional hiking trail where visitors can spot Pokémon statues across different biomes. Sedge Town will be a semi-recreation of different towns from the games complete with its own gym. The gym will feature a stage show with the dancing Pikachu’s like in the video. The park is said to have over 600 Pokémon, though I’m not sure if that means at once or in total across different attractions.
While the park won’t open until next year, early tickets for its grand opening will go live on November 21, 2025. Like most Japanese attractions, they will be sold in a lottery system. They will be available as an “Ace Trainer’s Pass” or a regular “Trainer’s Pass.” The ace version gives you unlimited access to both the forest and Sedge Town, plus priority access to different attractions and reserved seating for the gym. The regular pass grants you unlimited access to Sedge Town, but a specific time slot for the forest. If you’d rather just walk around Sedge Town, there is also a ticket option for just that.
