Production on Zach Cregger’s upcoming Resident Evil film took place in Prague last week, with the area blanketed in artificial snow to create a wintery scene in the franchise’s iconic Raccoon City.

The snow covered the streets adjacent to the Negrelli Viaduct in Prague’s Karlín district, while the Prague 8 neighborhood saw an action scene involving “gunfire, explosions, and fast driving” according to The Prague Reporter.

Filming took place primarily during the night hours from October 29th to November 2nd.

Visible props in the area confirmed the Raccoon City setting, with a city map depicting the frightening fictional locale from the games. Also spotted were burnt-out cars outside of an establishment called Oak Street Diner, as well as a Martin County Sheriff’s vehicle with Colorado plates.

Zach Cregger previously directed the critically acclaimed horror flicks Barbarian and Weapons. In an interview earlier this year, he promised the Resident Evil reboot will stay “true to the experience of the games.” As for which titles it will take inspiration from, he said it will take place in the world of Resident Evil 2 and 3 but “adheres more to the tone of 4.”

The movie is expected to release on September 18th, 2026, co-produced by Sony’s TriStar Pictures, Constantin Film, and PlayStation Productions.
