A new trailer for the next upcoming installment in the Hyrule Warriors series, a spin-off of The Legend of Zelda franchise, was revealed in today’s Nintendo Partner Showcase presentation.

The trailer teased a new Construct – mechanical creatures created by the Zonai, introduced in Tears of the Kingdom – which seems to play a major role in the story.

As we saw in the previous trailer, Age of Imprisonment is a side story for Tears of the Kingdom. It follows Princess Zelda and her allies, King Rauru and Queen Sonia, as they fight forces of evil in the Imprisoning War.

Earlier this year, we reported that the game will feature higher frame rates than its predecessor, Age of Calamity, thanks to the Switch 2. We also learned that the spinoff sequel started development as a title for the original Nintendo Switch.

When will Age of Imprisonment release?

There was no specific release date given for the game, but following the trailer, the narrator of the Showcase revealed that it will be releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 “this winter.”
