A third installment in the Monster Hunter Stories series has just been announced in Nintendo’s latest Partner Showcase presentation.
Launching on Nintendo Switch 2, the reveal trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection opens with a group of hunters discovering a mysterious monster egg encased in crystal.
Dialogue reveals that the main character is the “sole Rathalos rider in Azuria,” two kingdoms are at war, and that people are under threat by something known as “the Encroachment.”
The video ends with two baby Rathalos – the dragon-like beasts seen in many games in the Monster Hunter franchise – hatching from eggs similar to the one shown at the beginning of the trailer.
No logos for platforms besides Switch 2 were shown, so it’s unclear so far if the game will be a timed system exclusive or not. Since Stories 2 launched on multiple platforms, however, we expect this sequel to do the same.
