With a new generation of Nintendo hardware comes some new key art for its accessories and products. While this is hardly the biggest change coming for the Switch 2, Nintendo has introduced a variety of new eShop gift card designs that retailers will begin stocking soon.

As spotted by a Brazilian user on Twitter (PortalSMario), the eShop cards featured updated character renders for most of the Super Mario cast. Donkey Kong, in particular, is sporting his newest redesign that will be prominent in Donkey Kong Bananza (and is seemingly based on this look in The Super Mario Bros. Movie). Nintendo Everything has also noted that the cards are squarer in design versus the previous rectangular shapes.

Another user on Twitter posted pictures of Link and Isabelle on eShop cards, showing off the wider range of denominations these cards will have. For now, it seems only Brazil has updated the designs, but these are likely to come to other regions in the coming weeks. The Nintendo Switch 2 launches (mostly) globally on June 5th, 2025, so you should be able to spot these cards in the wild soon.
