It seems like every second, there’s some new bit of information regarding the Switch 2. While the often reliable leaker billbil-kun claimed that Canadian retailers would be opening pre-orders for Nintendo’s next console on April 23rd, 2025, they’ve now stated that US retailers will be planning to open pre-orders within a select window starting on April 21st, 2025.
In a post on Bluesky, Billbil-kun posted a generic image of the Switch 2 and its hardware with some news about different US retailers having conflicting dates for when pre-orders will open. As they claim, outlets will begin accepting reservations for the console between April 21st-30th. Accessories, such as the Pro Controller, will be available for pre-order starting on April 30th.

Through some US retailers, I’ve found conflicting data for pre-order start date of NS2 Hardware:

While billbil-kun is typically reliable, at present, this is just a rumor. Even with the Canadian retailer leak, it’s impossible to know how accurate these claims are. It does seem likely that Nintendo will want to get pre-orders in as early as possible due to the uncertainty surrounding President Trump’s tariffs, but there is no guarantee that it will even happen in April. We also still don’t know if the price has increased at all.
Until we get confirmation from Nintendo, make sure to have a bowl of salt at the ready so you can throw some over your shoulder.
