Fans of Portal and pinball, get ready for some earth-shattering news! Earlier today, Multimorphic Pinball announced that Portal is coming to its impressive P3 Pinball system this summer. This Portal Pinball machine is packed with stunning Portal-themed visuals, iconic voice acting from GladOS voice actress Ellen McLain, and even features a brand-new Personality Core named Reggie. Reggie moves, talks, and sports a mini LCD screen for a face, displaying his adorable range of emotions—all while helping you “team build” your way through the game!
For those unfamiliar with the P3 platform, it’s an incredibly unique pinball experience that allows you to swap out modular kits to transform your machine with new themes, ramps, parts, and artwork—at a fraction of the cost of buying an entirely new machine. Multimorphic achieves this flexibility by incorporating a large LCD screen inside the cabinet itself, which covers a significant portion of the playfield and can be programmed with unique visuals and theming for each title. The physical kit takes up the back part of the playfield and consists of ramps, loops, flippers, toys, and whatever else the design team dreams up. It’s tough to explain without seeing it in action—so check out the video above for a closer look!
Portal for the P3 system officially launches this summer at various price points. If you already own a P3 machine, you can grab the Portal upgrade kit starting at $3,900. For newcomers, a fully assembled Portal system is available for pre-order starting at $11,620 plus tax. Once you have the system, you’ll also have access to other officially licensed kits including The Princess Bride and Weird Al.
