During Take-Two’s financial results call last week, which Eurogamer graciously summarized, company CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that it “fully expects” the company to support the Switch 2 and even indicated that no game was off the table for the format. He was questioned by investors about the extent that Take-Two would publish games on Nintendo’s upcoming platform and while he didn’t confirm anything specifically, it stands to reason that he might be talking about Grand Theft Auto VI.

We’ve had obviously a long-standing relationship with Nintendo and we’ve supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release,” Zelnick said. This tracks seeing as how L.A. Noire, GTA: The Trilogy Definitive Edition, and Red Dead Redemption are on the current Switch, among other titles. “There was a time when Nintendo platforms were really geared at younger audiences and that was reflected in our release schedule,” Zelnick continued. “And now today with Switch and potentially with Switch 2, the Switch device can support any audience.”

Zelnick then noted how Civilization VII has just been released on the Switch and that it expects to continue releasing games on Nintendo’s consoles in the future. Again, no specifics, but that opens the door to plenty of franchises from the publisher. While the WWE games have been absent from Nintendo’s console for half a decade now, the Switch 2 could change that. GTA VI is an obvious frontrunner, but even Borderlands, Mafia, and XCOM could be on their way. The possibilities are really endless here.
