It’s the end of an era! Earlier this morning, Nintendo of Japan announced that it has officially run out of parts to repair New Nintendo 3DS consoles as of August 28th. Sadly, this means Nintendo will no longer be accepting repairs for the standard edition of the handheld starting today.

Back in March, Nintendo warned consumers that it was running low on parts for the 2DS and New 3DS consoles. Unfortunately, it seems that time has finally come for the smaller version of the handheld. Currently, both the 2DS and 3DS XL still have parts available for repairs, but it’s only a matter of time before those, too, become depleted.

So, if you happen to find your 3DS tucked away in a drawer, gathering dust, consider giving it a quick charge and showing it some love. You never know what you have until it’s gone!
