Next week will see the Kirby Café open its now-permanent location in Tokyo, though it looks like a preview event was held yesterday. Who better to sample the dishes and vibes of the place than the person who started it all? None other than Masahiro Sakurai was invited to sample the menu and have a meal with his pink, puffy boy.

Odds are, he didn’t manage a bite himself when Kirby is his dining partner, but he did spot a special element of the Café — a full size Whispy Woods!

The Kirby Café Tokyo will open to the public starting next week, on December 12th.
