Platforming game Cuphead is heading to the small screen through a new Netflix animated series called The Cuphead Show!
The news was announced via a tweet from game developer Studio MDHR, as well as an article from The Hollywood Reporter.
Coming to you in full color and cine-sound, it’s…The Cuphead Show! Witness the wondrous Inkwell Isles as you’ve never seen them before in an original series inspired by classic animation styles of the 1930s. Now in production by the talented team at @Netflix Animation! pic.twitter.com/4xA59eVLra

The television series is being produced by both Netflix Animation and King Features Syndicate, which also owns the rights to comic book IPs like Popeye, Garfield, and Archie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will “expand upon the characters and world of the game, which centers on titular hero Cuphead and his brother Mugman who make a deal with the devil in a high-stakes gambling match.”
The production team for The Cuphead Show! includes Cuphead creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer and Emmy and Annie award-winner Dave Wasson (known for his work on Mickey Mouse Shorts) as executive producers, as well as Cosmo Segurson (known for his work on Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling) as co-executive producer.
Cuphead originally launched in 2017 as an Xbox One-exclusive title and was later brought to Nintendo Switch earlier this year.
No word yet on a release date, but stay plugged in to Nintendo Wire for that information when it becomes available.
