During its E3 Digital Event today, Nintendo announced Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival, a party game spin-off of its popular community simulation franchise.
In the title’s reveal video, Animal Crossing characters Tom Nook, Isabelle, Mabel and K.K. Slider are seen running around a Mario Party-esque board located in a classic Animal Crossing village. Players aim to collect the most points (dubbed “Happy Points”) by the end of each game. Characters are shown rolling a die, landing on spaces and receiving pop-up notebooks showcasing various villager-related scenarios.
As its name would imply, the game heavily features amiibo compatibility. Four different figures are featured in the reveal, being placed on the Wii U GamePad.
While Tom Nook, Isabelle, K.K. Slider and Mabel amiibo were shown off during the Digital Event, an image from a Business Wire article reveals amiibo of Reese, Cyrus and a new female otter named Lottie are also on the way.
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is expected to launch this holiday season, available as a bundle including the game, three amiibo cards and two amiibo figures.
